With Winning in Mind
Lanny Bassham: With Winning In Mind.
Paljon mielenkiintoista asiaa. Tässä tärkeimmät lainaukset:
Ten principles of Mental Management:
- When the Conscious mind has a positive thought, it cannot at the same time be thinking negatively.
⇒ I take control of what I picture, choosing to think about what I want to create in my life. - What you picture is crucial.
⇒ I always give myself commands in a positive way. I remind myself that what others are picturing, as a result of hearing me speak, is crucial to proper understanding. - The Subconscious Mind is the source of all mental power.
⇒ I am so well-trained that all of my performance is Subconsciously done. I trust my subconscious to guide my performance in competition. - The Subconscious moves you to do whatever the Conscious Mind is picturing
⇒ I realize that my Subconscious power is moving me to perform what I am Consciously picturing. I control what I picture and picture only what I want to see happen. - The Self-Image and performance are always equal.
⇒ I am aware that my performance and Self-Image are equal. I am eager to change my habits and attitudes to increase my performance. - You can replace the Self-Image you have with the Self-Image you want, and, therefore, permanently change performance.
⇒ I am responsible for changing my Self-Image. I choose the habits and attitudes I want and cause my Self-Image to change accordingly. - When the Conscious, Subconscious, and Self-Image are balanced and working together, good performances are effortless.
⇒ I cause my Conscious, Subconscious and Self-Image to move toward being in balance, thereby increasing my performance without frustration. - The more you think about, talk about, or write about something happening, we improve the probability of that thing happening.
- The Self-Image cannot tell the difference between what actually happens and what is vividly imagined.
- We value the things in direct proportion to the price we pay for them.
The steps of Mental Management Goal Setting System:
- Decide exactly what you want.
- Decide when you want it.
- List the pay-value.
- Determine your obstacles.
- Determine the plan to get the goal.
- Ask important questions, including; ”Is the prize worth the price?”
- Schedule the plan.
- Start now.
- Never reach a goal without first setting another one.
- Never, never quit.
Each task has three phases:
- The Anticipation phase (about to shoot).
- The Action phase (shooting).
- The Reinforcement phase (repeat the good shot in my mind step by step – forget it if its a bad one).
Mental program is composed of five steps:
- The point of Initiation (getting in line before nocking the arrow)
- The point of Attitude (feel what it feels like to shoot a ten – see what the image looks like when you HAVE shot a ten)
- The point of Direction (think and imagine what phases you must do – and how – to shoot a ten)
- The point of Control (concentrate on the most crucial part of the procedure – like think SLOW and SMALL)
- The point of Focus (its the last thing you picture before firing – think and see TEN)
Skills are developed by:
- Caching yourself doing something right (SC),
- Training four or five days a week (SC),
- Being all there, whenever you are (SC),
- Rehearsing the match day within training sessions (SC),
- Continuing with the activity when you are performing well (SC),
- Surrounding yourself with those who are superior to yourself (SC, SI).
To change the Self-Image (SI), you must:
- Be willing to change,
- Identify the habits and attitudes you need to change
- Set up a new Self-Image in conflict with the old one,
- Exchange the old Self-Image with the new one.
Directive Affirmation (the tool for replacing Self-Image) has 8 steps:
- Define the goal.
- Run it for 21 days, rest 9 days, then repeat if necessary.
- List the personal pay-value of reaching a goal.
- Outline the plan to reach the goal.
- Write a Directive Affirmation.
- Make five copies on cards/paper.
- Place cards in prominent key points (dinner table, workplace, bathroom mirror, bed and so on).
- Read and visualize your Directive Affirmations daily (every time you enter the key point).

Sama suomeksi:
Tähtää, ammu ja mieti mitä meinaat syyä illalla.
You bastard…
Itellä ny työn alla the mind gym, ja kyllä on tuubaa.
Vai oliks se “If you act like a pussy, someday you’ll be fucked”… eiku. :D
No niin, työstetäänpäs tämä nyt sitten kuntoon. Tehdään TÄYSIN hypoteettinen oletus, että joku tämän lukijoista toteaisi pahimmaksi ongelmakseen puutteellisen suorituskyvyn nokturnaalisissa aktiviteeteissa, ja kävisi toteuttamaan tätä amerikkalaisen helppoheikin omin-käsin-onneen -pläjäystä. Niinpä ohjeethan menevät näin:
What you picture is crucial. Jep. Pamelat ja Katet ja Tracit ja Ingridit ja Minni Hiiret on jo kuviteltu
Ask important questions, including; ”Is the prize worth the price?”
Training four or five days a week (SC), Mikä johti puolestaan tähän. Ja jännetuppitulehdukseen.
Set up a new Self-Image in conflict with the old one. Jaa kuvako? Okei…
Surrounding yourself with those who are superior to yourself (SC, SI). Jepjep. Makkariin mahtuukin oivasti lisää väkeä edellisten toimintojen jälkeen. Ns. poikien iltoja paljon luvassa.
Place cards in prominent key points (dinner table, workplace, bathroom mirror, bed and so on).
